Crafting high-quality commercial sound since 1989.

Colors Audio – Audio Production Company

Your brand has a sound.

Don’t put it in the hands of amateurs. Or robots.

Colors Audio

Technically we offer “postproduction” services, but that might include a voiceover happening before production, or a radio spot that is the entire production.  From a comfortable audiobook space, to top shelf podcasting services, tracking & editing for eLearning courses, audio for video and more, Colors Audio is your brand’s sonic best friend.

The Studio

The Control Room and Talent Studio of Colors Audio were designed by acclaimed acoustician Michael Blackmer.  All of the considerations that go into constructing a world-class recording facility were carried into this project: Isolation, symmetry, quiet HVAC, clean electrical power, client comfort, and of course an accurate monitoring environment.

And probably a lot of things we’ve forgotten about.  It was 2005, after all.

Only a purpose-built sound studio can give you this level of performance.  The difference is audible, and carries through from original recording to final playback.

The Equipment

The Colors Audio approach to equipment is to use the tools we need, to make it easier to get the results we want.  If you recognize some names like Neumann, Avid Pro Tools, Focusrite, API, Dynaudio, etc., that may give clients some assurance that we won’t be limited by our gear.  But in the field of audio, as in others, a skilled operator can get a lot out of ordinary tools, and an unskilled person can make a mess with the best.

We’re after the same thing you’re after: the best quality sound with the least amount of fuss.

Our Philosophy

At Colors Audio we don’t solve problems.  We prevent problems.

Conventional wisdom says that we’re supposed to tell you how we feel your pain, and that we have the solution to your problem.  Well, look at that: Your wheels are crooked! We can align them for you!

Um, fine.

But wouldn’t it be better to drive around the potholes in the first place?  You can do that with the help of someone who’s been down this road before.

Careful preparation and communication can head off most problems in our world of educating and persuading.  Setting expectations and delivering what’s promised pretty much take care of the rest.  It’s not that we’ve never had something nasty jump up to bite us in the tender parts — oh, we have.  But frankly it seems that most companies (in all industries) don’t put in the time up front to understand and inform the client.

And so, there are problems.

Truth be told, Colors Audio is probably losing opportunities to be the savior, the Superman, the cavalry riding over the hill at the last moment.  Clients really do appreciate it when you solve their problems.

But who needs the drama?

Our Mission: To make you sound good.

(Why would it be more complicated than that?)

Ask how Colors Audio can make your brand sound as good as it looks.

“Can’t tell you how much you bring to the broadcast and what a valued asset you are to us.”
