The Future of eLearning
A couple of years ago some of the best minds in voiceover thought that eLearning would become an early casualty of the AI revolution. We didn’t believe it then, and we don’t, now. A learner needs all the help he or she can get in acquiring knowledge – especially within the constraints of a computer-based channel of instruction. That’s where a human-to-human interaction is needed most.
Unfortunately, some voice actors, believing that eLearning and Explainer narration is like reading a commercial or a phone tree list, have dropped the performance bar very low. Boring, brain-dead, or artificially energetic reads are the norm in this genre, sad to say. And machines can do that.
But there will always be companies that really want to convey some knowledge to the poor cubicle-dwellers required to take their training. They see the need to make the teaching/learning experience as human as possible.
And boy, do those companies love us.

Proofreading.
Not actually a line-item on our rate sheet, we’re often the “fresh eyes” on a script that has been around the email ring a few too many times. Here’s another place we can prevent problems, rather than solving them.
Voice Acting.
Often, eLearning scripts are challenging to read because there’s a lot of technical, legal, or medical jargon. But always they’re challenging to read well. We have techniques for “getting inside” the script, and conveying the pictures painted by your words. It’s about becoming one of you — talking like your associates talk, thinking like they think — and bridging the gap to someone who needs that knowledge.
It may not be exciting, but it is important. And we never lose sight of that.
Recording, editing and naming.
We can deliver finished audio files, edited, QC’ed and named appropriately, so that your instructional designer can just drop them into the course, and go. We have a package rate for that. No muss, no fuss.
